In the course of an interview to the PBS sequence "Pioneers of Tv," Noah Wyle claimed that while filming a number of Carter's Africa storyline while in the Kalahari Desert, the real on-set medic handed out within the heat, and Wyle (who by that point were filmed pretending to carry out countless simulated clinical treatments for the television demo
